Abhay Deol Biography, Lifestory, Family, Movies & More

A child of the Deol family.  His name is Abhay Singh Deol.  He was born on 15 March 1976.  He was born in Punjab.  Father Ajit Singh Deol and Mother Usha Deol.  Although he entered films very late, but he was associated with films since childhood.  His uncle is the great Dharmendra.  Big fist of elder brother Sunny Deol was rocking at the box-office.  And no one can match the style of his other elder brother Bobby Deol.

Although Abhay Deol belonged to a film family, Abhay Deol chose his own path.  He chose films that actors usually don’t do.  A director said that no one will make me a hero because of my face.  I look like a thief, drug addict or obsessive.  Do you know.  Interestingly, Abhay Deol could have entered films whenever he wanted but he curbed his gains.  And he decided not to do films till the completion of his studies.

After completing his studies, this Alag Deol started his career in Imtiaz Ali’s film ‘Socha Na Tha’ in 2005.  Though ‘Socha Na Tha’ did not perform as expected at the box office.  But it received critical acclaim.  Abhay Deol was established as a natural actor.  It is a different matter that after Abhay Deol Socha Na Tha, many film offers were not received.  After that he did few selected films like ‘Ahista Ahista’, ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt.  Limited’ ‘Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye’, ‘Manorama 6 Feet Under’.

Abhay Deol’s acting in all these films was highly praised.  But she could not do anything special at the box office.  And then Abhay Deol did the film which his uncle Dharmendra could not complete.  Gulzar signed Dharmendra for the film ‘Devdas’.  Here he was to play the role of Devdas.  and Paro and Chandramuhi played by Hema Malini and Sharmila Tagore.  But this film got shelved.  At that time Dharmendra did not know that after many years his nephew Abhay would fulfill his dream.

Abhay was seen as a modern Devdas in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Dev D’.  The promotion of this film was also done differently.  Here the focus was on sex more than love.  Condoms were gifted during the promotion.  And after the success of ‘Dev D’, Abhay Deol did not look back.  He got many films.  Some were multi starrers.  And in some as a solo hero.  But still Abhay Deol kept doing different films.  Like in the film ‘Shanghai’ and the film ‘Tera Kya Hoga Johnny’, Abhay Deol was seen as an item boy.

Personal Life

He is an actor who can go to any extent to play his character.  Abhay did the same in 2011 for his film ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’.  He trained as a deep sea driver.  After taking training in sea diving, he went to Spain to shoot the film.  Abhay gets full support of his elder brothers Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol.  And he was blessed by his uncle Dharmendra.  Sunny and Bobby might not have attended Hema Malini’s wedding and reception and Dharmendra’s elder daughter Isha.  And when the media asked about it, we saw Dharmendra getting angry.

But Abhay was a part of his sister Isha’s happy occasion.  Man’s World and Time Out Mumbai are also seen in Abhay’s cover page.  And he also got the New Face of Indian Cinema Award.  And Abhay is also counted among the 50 most desirable hunks according to a survey.  Abhay Deol also became a producer doing different types of films.  The name of his film company is also quite interesting.  It’s called ‘Forbidden Films’.  Taking a look at Abhay Deol’s personal life, we came to know that his favorite movies are ‘Chupke Chupke’, ‘Bharat Mata’ and ‘Dr.  Weird love.  Abhay is very much inspired by these films.  Abhay Deol was one such actor who mixed the mainstream.  and parallel cinema.  Know about the skills of great talents Welcome to our website
